Gandalf Development, Inc. is pleased to announce that Mobile Infirmary Medical Center recently launched a new web site, powered by Estrada Web Technology, a sophisticated Internet content management and development system. Mobile Infirmary is the largest nongovernmental, not-for-profit hospital in Alabama.

Estrada enables Mobile Infirmary’s non-technical personnel to create web pages without learning computer programming, to continuously update web information immediately without transferring files. Estrada enables individual departments to update their own areas of the web site without relying on a webmaster. In addition, content review features allow editors in the marketing department to review updates before they are published.

Thanks to Estrada’s features, future plans include enabling patients to register online for events, a human resources area with up-to-the-minute employment opportunities and resumé-submission, online health publications, and a special media crisis communications area.

“With our previous web consultant, it often took so long to make changes to the site that events were over before we could get them on the web. Now, we can get right into the site and make changes or build whole new areas all by ourselves,” said Joan Paine, director of marketing for the Infirmary. “It was very easy to learn.”
